The Swiss Hydrogeological Society (Société suisse d'hydrogéologie (SSH)) is an association of scientists, practitioners and government officers, active in the field of hydrogeology. The SSH aims at studying hydrogeology in the context of groundwater use and protection. The SSH acts as a bridge between pure and applied science, also linking administrative issues of hydrogeology.
The SSH is a member of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) and of the Swiss forum for hydrogeology. This society represents Switzerland within the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), and forms its national committee. The SSH organises meetings devoted to the further education of members as well as to favour exchange. Working groups are formed and led to study current issues of hydrogeology. The SSH expresses itself in the context of auditions and procedures of consultation linked with the legal guidelines and bases, regarding the groundwater or hydrogeologists’ activity.
